As you probably know by now, you earn a 50% commission on all sales and product rebills, but now I want to cover exactly what you can potentially earn, and how it’s calculated. First we have to look at ClickBank’s fees.
ClickBank Fees
As payment for me to use ClickBank as my payment processor, they take a fee from every transaction that they process for me. That fee is:
7.5% + $1 from the total price of every transaction.
Here’s how that would look if I sold a product through ClickBank that costs $100:
$100 – 7.5% = $92.50 -$1 = $91.50
So after ClickBank take their fees, I earn $91.50 from the sale of the product.
Your Commission
Commission on ClickBank products is calculated after the fees have been taken, if you promoted my $100 product as an affiliate and stood to make 50% commission, you would earn 50% of the remaining $91.50. This means your commission would be:
50% of $91.50 = $45.75
So now that we understand how the commission is calculated, let’s look at exactly what that would mean for my products.
Here is a table I put together to help show what you would stand to make if you sold each of the products individually.
Note: On the sales page for Track Rider Training, the customer is offered two payment options. Your commission will depend on which payment option they choose.
Product | ERS eBook | TRT Single Payment | TRT 4 x Payments |
Price | $27 | $127 | 4 x $33 |
Minus CB Fees | $23.98 | $116.48 | $118.10 |
Your Commission | $11.99 | $58.24 | $59.05 |
If you choose to simply promote Track Rider Training on it’s own, as you feel that’s the best fit for your audience, you would stand to take a $58-59 commission per sale (the commission for the 4 month payment option would also be paid to you over 4 months as each payment is received from the customer)
Upsell Commission
However, if you decided to promote the Essential Riding Skills eBook (with automatic upsell to TRT) you would stand to make roughly $71 total commission assuming they accepted the upsell, and once all 4 payments for the course had been made by the customer.
Well that about covers the different commissions you stand to receive on the sale of the above products. It’s important to note that these numbers are estimates, and depending on exchange rates between countries, the final figures can vary – albeit only by a few cents either way.
